Need some encouragement?
I recently gave a talk to patients and staff at a local rehabilitation hospital.
In it, I use my experiences recovering from a stroke to help inform, inspire, and encourage caregivers and people who've had major health incidents. It's serious stuff, but there's lots of room for recovery tips, love, and even humor.
If that sounds like it might be helpful or even entertaining for you or someone you know, here's a link to the talk. It's 38 minutes long.
It's part of my YouTube channel, "From Recovery to Discovery".
Thanks for looking!

I enjoy your talks very much. I had some physical issues but recovered from most of them quite quickly. My most significant problem is my memoy and concentration. I've suffered with my lack of memoty for almost 60 years now. But most upsetting was when I came out of my first coma. Although I couldn't do anything, and had to relearn everything, what bothered me the most was my inability to play the piano like I had before. When I came home, I didn't even know what the piano was, My parents had to basically raise me twice. But I have never been able to relearn the piano which is still a very emotional and difficult subject for me and I don't know why. I would understand it more if I had memories of me playing but I don't.
Scott, I was wondering if there was one thing that has been the most difficult to come to terms with, what was/is your piano?
Thank you,
Jake
