Nearly a year into treatment…
I have stage four distal esophageal adenocarcinoma diagnosed February 20, 2024, which is in my stomach and liver and has moved down my esophagus, I’m on a second treatment plan with paclitaxel and cyramza. My red blood cell count and hemoglobin numbers tanked last month and I felt as if I was on my death bed, because I was. I had a blood transfusion and I’m feeling better, now have a standing order for transfusion if my hemoglobin drops below 8.5. I’m an optimistic person in general, but this last month really tested my strength, which I had little of. I was so weak and tired that my sleep schedule was all screw up and my voice was very weak, I had constipation and difficulty swallowing liquids or food. My question is if anyone else has gone through a similar experience and how did you get through it? I am looking for any help in battling this and every thought and suggestion is another avenue for me to explore with my oncologist, Dr. Jasdeepa Nagi at Sutter Downtown Medical Oncology in Sacramento, CA. Surgery is off the table as she feels that it doesn’t add to length of life for my specific situation.

I don’t know a lot as we are new to this but have you looked into immunotherapy or biosimilar tx?
I also have started looking into this: https://bookinghealth.com/blog/diagnoses-and-treatment/diagnosis-and-treatment/315297-esophageal-cancer-treatment-in-germany.html
It is a site that books treatment in Germany but it’s the information about dendritic therapy I was interested in.
I’m still fairly new to all this but I found an app this morning called Leal Health. If you create an account they’ll ask you to write in your information and link you to things like possible clinical trials. It’s legit, from what I researched, and it could give you some options.
Get pet scan to see what's up.
Have had multiple scans, pet, cat or otherwise, my oncologist is one of the best in Sacramento California.
I let my oncologist direct my treatment, my wife and I bring up other options and usually they are not used for my cancer type or locations.
Ok, I only offered these options as you had asked. I hope you are able to find an option to try, 🙏 .
