Nausea & vomiting going on 8 weeks after iron infusion
Has anyone had nausea, vomiting, & horrible taste for 8 weeks after receiving iron infusion? Have had Crohns Disease since a child ( for over 20 years now ). Have had 6 resections. Have been on TPN for over 4 years now. The worst right now is the Nausea & vomiting daily since iron infusion.

Hi @garielle, having some nausea after an iron infusion isn’t unusual but that’s generally a temporary side effect. You’re still having daily nausea and vomiting after 8 weeks which could signal that your body isn’t regulating the iron in a normal way and iron is possibly at a toxic level.
Early symptoms of iron poisoning may include stomach pain, nausea and vomiting.
This needs to be assessed to make sure you’re not experiencing an iron overload. Have you reported your symptoms to your physician?

Last year needed iron infusion
Fereheme double infusion. No side effects like regular iron
I was told not all insurance co will pay for it Ask you Dr
