Anyone with lung cancer had nausea and slowed right down?

I was wondering if anyone with lung cancer has had nausea and slowed right down. I was very active and can hardly move with this nauseated feeling.
Thank you,
Joan

Can you say a bit more about your situation? Are you currently in any treatment or have you completed some course of treatment? So many things can cause nausea. I hope you get some helpful responses here. But if it is ongoing without an obvious cause you might check in with your doctor and get more information. Wishing you the best.

Hi Joan @soupycampbell, it’s great to hear from you, but I certainly wish you were feeling better. We don’t want nausea and lack of energy to get in the way of your adventures. If you are still getting scans, could you move that appointment up? Are you due for a scan?

Thinking of you Joan @soupycampbell. I hope you have received some help to feel better, possibly palliative care.

Chemo is a systemic treatment that affects the whole body. You need to get Gentle exercise every day but you need to get rest as well.

Chemo works because it destroys the cancer cells slightly faster than the healthy cells. That includes the cells in the marrow that produce red blood corpuscles that supply the body with the oxygen and nutrients your body needs to move.

Fatigue is your body's way of telling you to slow down, rest or nap, and allow the chemo to work and the body to heal.

Hello my fellow cancer fighter. Can i call you Soupy for short? 😄I don't have lung cancer, I have esophageal cancer. But it sure knocked me on my keyster. No energy whatsoever. And no appetite. Can't eat a jellybean without nausea. But we have to fight on through, my friend. A friend of mine once said," When you're going through hell, don't stop!" I suppose that means that there is a way out, and that means going through. Not stopping and giving up. Don't stop and rest for too long either. It may become impossible to start going again. Be encouraged my friend. There are lots and lots of people on this app that are pulling for you. I'm one! Bless you.

I am just going to say it...Cancer Sucks.

Have you tried all the meds from your doctor? (Ondansetron, olanzapine etc.)
I suck on Ginger Chews, they sell them at most stores. Hemp tea?
I am sorry you are suffering I hope you get some relief.

More thoughts on nausea management. There are multiple types of anti nausea meds and if me doesn't work try another.

I like the ginger chews aprilradik mentioned. Also thinly shaved, fresh ginger tucked in the cheek. Ginger snaps and ginger tea help, too.

Yuck! I hate ginger. How about some hemp leaves? Just kidding. I don't like getting high either. Last time I did was in 2004 and it made me feel retarded 🙃

Seeing as how I hate the taste of ginger, I may take you up on that hemp tea. I hope ot doesn't make you high because I hate feeling high more than I hate ginger 😕 😆

Thank you aprilradek. Yes, I've tried those meds. No good. I'll try henp tea, as long as I don't get high. Did enough of that in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Wow, I just realized, I was a pothead🤪😆.
