How did small fiber neuropathy present itself for you? My story
hello all. i was officially diagnosed last week with sfn. it all started nov. 2023. it started with leg pain and heart palpitations. then progressed to an electrical feeling running through my body. then the twitching started. once i twitched, the electrical feeling would go away for a few minutes then it would happen all over again. i had a 9 month period where i just had horrible heart palpitations and leg pain that was worse when walking. the cardiologist did all the tests. everything came back good except for trace valvular regurgitation. just very recently i started having the classic burning tingle in my feet. mostly its pain in my legs and toes as well as my arms and fingers. so thats my story.

@justin1982, now that you have been officially diagnosed, have you and provider discussed steps to move forward?
My small fiber neuropathy was caused by my lumbar spine stenosis . I have agreed with recommendation from my doctor, be treated with my implanted NEVRO spinal cord stimulator and if need be in the future a M.I.L.D. (Minimally invasive lumbar decompression) for the paresthesia (nerve pain ) if it worsens . Treating the other resulting symptoms on an as needed basis. I’m grateful to avoid spine surgery and hardware .
