My PSE test results
I've posted here about this. My PSE just came back as "High Likelyhood" of having Prostate Cancer. Despite my previous biopsy coming back as Bening. I'm set to repeat the biopsy ASAP. Once that is done I will more than likely get a confirmed diagnosis of Prostate Cancer. I just want to go and cry.

Hopefully, when they do this biopsy, they will check other areas of the prostate that they missed last time.
Are you getting a transperineal biopsy instead of a rectal biopsy? That allows them to check more areas of the prostate.
My assumption is that it will be rectal given that I was prescribed a fleet enema. I will check on that.
@jayhall -- not necessarily. I was prescribed a fleet enema for my fusion transperineal biopsy. I believe they want the bowel empty since they still put an ultrasonic probe up your rectum to light up the prostate for placing the needle.
I hope that it's a false positive and you can dodge this bullet! I don't think anything has been so all-consuming of my time and energy as preparing for this.
I will second jeffmarc’s comments: be SURE it is trans perineal otherwise they are not getting to distant parts of the gland which may have the cancer and you may wind up with another false negative.
Reading this (I'm scheduled for a transrectal biopsy on Tuesday), no enema prescription of any kind is offered or mandated as part of the workup requirement told to me. I'm wondering why?
Just take one to be sure - never heard of any kind of prostate biopsy without one!
Yea, I agree, go get a fleet enema, it's a pretty simple process that takes about 15-20 minutes and isn't anywhere near the discomfort of a pre-colonoscopy cleanse. Better safe than sorry - and considering they will be creating open wounds on an area in a bacteria heavy part of your body, it's better to do it and not need it.
I take it back. I had one for my transperineal biopsy.
