My cousin has prion encephalitic. What can be done?

My cousin has prion encephalitic, He lives overseas,and he is only 51 yrs old with 3 young boys. They said there is no cure, so is there anything at all that can be done? Please give us some hope. Hes in a hospital, and I don't know if hes in one that knows how to help him, in Italy, even if someone knows of a hospital that will help him in Italy.

It must be difficult to be so far away from your cousin at this time. I'm tagging @jemarsh on this discussion.
