Multiple THR revision failures. Girdlestone procedure?

I’ve had 5 replacement and revision surgeries on 1 hip and now it’s failing again. I am being told the only option is a permanent girdlestone procedure to remove the hip entirely. Has anyone had this done? If so, I would like to ask questions about quality of life.
