Multiple Test(s) results from my Urology Clinic Released

At my first visit to my Urology Clinic they set up a patient portal where I could see appointments etc. When they sent the first PSA testing the results never were released on the portal and I was only given test results in person. I get the reasons etc. a few days ago I logged into the portal and saw test results that dated back to my original appointments. These included multiple Urine test cultures where they sent Urine off for extended testing and a Free PSA test that was never discussed with me, and I don't know what testing was performed on the Urine. Nearly 4 months after my RARP they are just now sharing those results. Anyone every have this happen to them?

My GP portal will routinely not display the results until I meet with my NP. But I can go directly to the portal of the lab they use and see the results as soon as they're available. I put up with that because I like the NP and don't want to bother changing providers just for routine tests (that I can see quickly anyway at the labs portal). At Mayo Phoenix all tests I had done there were immediately available on the patient portal, which is exactly how I think it should be done. Best wishes.

I always get every single test result posted online within a few hours of actually having the blood test unless it took a longer time to actually come up with the results. The only test I don’t get right away is the PSA test, my oncologist has to release it and almost always does the night I get the blood test or early the next morning. There are legal restrictions on releasing those test results to someone directly without the doctor, approving them.

Must admit my testosterone test does take about three days, But it takes that long to come up with the results.

It’s real questionable why your lab results are not made available to you as soon as they are finished. Of course, if it’s related to a PSA test That would be delayed, But what you described doesn’t seem to fit that criteria.

That’s very odd. They are “your” tests, not the clinic. I get my PSA blood draw in Minneapolis every three months. They overnight it to Mayo and I have the results by ten the next morning on my chart. When I get it drawn at the Mayo, it hits my chart within the hour.

I get test results within a few hours (except testosterone, might be a day or 2 for that). Heck, my PSMA PET results were posted on Sunday night after a Friday test. Ordering physician didn't see them till Tuesday.

I get an email and a text every time anything is added to my portal account, then I long on when I am ready to read the results, without my urologist's remarks or thoughts -- that usually takes a couple of days. I appreciate being informed straight away, even if I do not fully understand the results/reports completely.

Makes no sense to me since like another poster stated …they are your tests and likely you are paying for them. It may be the way your clinic is set up. Here in So Cal I have dealt with UC Irvine Medical Center and Moores Cancer center in San Diego. Requests for blood work are sent to independent labs that I have set up an account with such as QUEST. I authorize those results to go to the various Medical Centers to be posted for the care providers to review. All tests such as PSA post on my Quest Account first and then are automatically sent to UC Irvine, etc. Funny, but I will get a notification from
Quest of a test result and then an hour later get a notification of the same result from UC Irvine or UC San Diego Health.
