Mucoid degeneration of ACL
I have multiple issues - spondylolisthesis in L4/L5 and L5/S1, osteopenia and osteoarthritis. I get PT and acupuncture, have had several epidural injections, and am trying hard to avoid osteoporosis meds (was on bisphosphonates for many years many years ago) as well as spinal fusion. The treatments all help with back and hip pain but I have a consistent back-of-knee pain that worsens with walking. The side of my knee is achy as well and I had a meniscus repair in 2012 and have had a few injections there as well. My MRI done in June states that I have “very severe mucoid degeneration/partial thickness tearing of the ACL with the tibial spine tractional marrow edema.” I know what the words mean. Is this likely to cause my knee pain or can it be the compressed lumbar nerve - or both? Anyone else have this and how was it treated if at all?
