Jeff, thanks for the info as usual…I personally think things like Decipher, genetic testing and now AI are going to be disruptive technologies that are going to put guys like Dr Epstein out of business.
All due respect to his expertise, he’s only human and that makes his opinion just that: an opinion. However, since at present most AI is based on opinions like his, he does serve a valuable purpose.
I think the more researchers discover about this disease and how it functions on a cellular level, the more those findings can be used in an algorithm to predict the aggressiveness and lethality of certain types of PCa.
I am confident that in 5 yrs or less much of the uncertainty of how to treat a certain individual will be gone; standard protocols across a wide spectrum of hospitals will be adopted and men will no longer need to get on a plane to see some Wizard a thousand miles away to get the best treatment. It will be available much closer to home.
That is my HOPE, anyway…
