Misoprostol side effects, bladder pain and ”period cramps”

I was prescribed Misoprostol for a stomach ulcer. Think it was 200mg pills. I swallowed one, but just a few hours later I started getting awful ”period cramps” and my period wasn’t due for several days.

I quit the Misoprostol immediately.

The cramps continued. About 4 days later my period came, as expected, but it was almost black and ”grainy”. On the second day the color was normal but I bled A LOT and kept doing so throughout my whole period. (I’m on the pill)

I also noticed I started getting bladder pain and other issues with my bladder, and cold sweating at night. My face is also a bit swollen.

It’s now been about 3 weeks since the Misoprostol and I’m still having these symptoms.

My dr says it can’t possibly happen from just one pill. But I live in a country where this medicine isn’t often used for ulcers.

What on earth might be going on?
