Microscopic Colitis

I have suffered for many years with stomach pain and chronic diarrhea. I also have scalp psoriasis which flares when my stomach gets really bad and the combo makes me miserable. I am in my fifties and have a very active life with family and full time teaching in Higher Ed, but the stomach troubles create terrible stress and fatigue. I was put on budesomide a couple of months ago and have relief from diarrhea but stomach pain has increased and this week I have started having light rectal bleeding along with rectal pain. Anyone else had these issues with this medication?

I have not had any issues with Budesonide for treatment of my Collagenous Colitis. Please contact your gastroenterologist immediately about your rectal bleeding and pain - this is definitely not normal.

I'm not a dr but I would certainly reach out to your GI dr. I have a lot of stomach issues and understand the overwhelming stress it causes. I have been working closely with my GI dr.

I have noticed after changes in any kind of medicine my stomach area will hurt for a few days while it adjust.
