Melanoma stage 4 nonreactive to Imunotherapy,TargetedTherapy. Options?

Posted by yasiraffan @yasiraffan, 4 days ago

Hello,

My father is diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma couple of months ago.
We started with Immunotherapy (Nivolumb + ipilimubab) and completed 4 doses of Nivolumab (240mg) and Ipilumab (50mg)

Latest pet ct scan shows it is a frank progression (spread to other organs and lesions size got increased)

My father is not Braf positive, so targeted therapy is ruled out.

Anyone in similar boat and what options can we explore now?

@yasiraffan: What a tremendous help you must be to your dad as he's going through this. It's very discouraging and disappointing to learn of progression.

There ought to be additional options that can be considered: perhaps Lenvatinib + Pembrolizumab, chemotherapy agents, clinical trials and/or others but truly it would be up to the managing oncology team who is most familiar with your father's medical history and responses to date to formulate the best treatment plan for him. Every individual is different so what works for one, may not be appropriate for another.

Hope this helps and that your father moves on successfully to his next round of intervention.

@grammato3 Thanks Susan for the suggestions. I will bring this up with the consulting oncologist and understand the feasibility of these options.
Thanks for the link, will go through that and see if there are any clinical trials which are relevant for my father
