Meeting for those with genetic mutations
Ancan.Org is having a meeting for people with genetic mutations this Thursday at 8 PM Eastern time 5 PM Pacific. Any type of genetic mutation is welcome as well as those with sickle cell.
If you’d like a chance to talk to people that are knowledgeable about these issues and others that have them, this would be a good place to meet.
You do have to install GoTo Meeting on your device and the meeting name is ancanschmier to join.

Jeff, could you please relay my question about the ATM gene and cancer (Gleason 9) at the meeting? I'll have a question prepared.
@denis76
Send me the question. I will ask at the meeting.

I can't figure out how to send a private message.
@denis76
In the upper right corner, where they have the Bell that shows you have messages waiting to read there is an envelope right next to it which allows you to send private messages.
Just click the envelope and select compose and you can put in my @jeffmarc address.

I can't see that button.
Could you send me a private message like "123" and I'll reply with information about my question? Thanks!
@denis76
I sent you a private message. Did you get it?

Jeff, as far as I know new members can not send PMs for a month or more. Hope this info helps you guys.
Denis76- just post your question here u until your PM function becomes available.

We resolved it by my sending him a private message and he was able to reply with what he was going to ask.

1 ReactionYes, I was send my question to Jeff!
@surftohealth88 There is another way to send a private message: i) Click @nameofperson in the comment you are reading, ii) The profile of @nameofperson appears, to the left of his/her name, where an uploaded photo is displayed@nameofperson's , there is a button "send a private message." iii) Click that button and proceed to compose a message, then send. (I used this method many times.)
This morning, I was able to send private messages to two individuals. However, when I was next going to message you @surftohealth88, after i') clicking your name, ii') your profile did appear but the button wasn't there. I clicked Jeff's and Colleen's name, but same thing I didn't see the button. I suspected that I have been blocked from sending PMs, I contacted Mayo's technical support; Colleen replied that I haven't been blocked, private messaging should work.
Can you try the method Jeff mentioned, if you can PM me? (I tried it, didn't work for me as well.) I like your writings over the past year, I wanted to ask if you would be interested to collaborate in a book project with me. I am satisfied with the first book I published; it will be the next (higher) level if I found a co-author from the States. If not you, then somebody else.
If I do get a PM from you, I will reply back with more info in what I want to do. But no pressure, you don't need to PM me if my "wild idea" is out of the question.
Thank you for the "good reads," your past and future comments in this forum.
