Mayo Clinic Arizona seeks Breast Cancer Survivors for Exercise Study
Mayo Clinic is seeking breast cancer survivors in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area to volunteer for a research study that partners with the Valley of the Sun YMCA. The purpose of this study is to compare a 6-month exercise program with a 6-month virtual health education program on memory, attention, and brain health.
You may be eligible to participate if:
- You are at least 50 years of age
- You are a woman who has completed treatment for Stage I-IIIa breast cancer within the past 3 years
- You live in the greater Phoenix area
Your participation will include:
- Participate in a personalized exercise program or health education program for 6 months
- Completion of an exercise test, MRI brain scan, brain games, and questionnaires
- Wear an activity tracker for the duration of the study that is yours to keep
- Receive 6-month membership to all Valley of the Sun YMCA locations
- Receive payment for your time spent at data collection visits
Total study participation will last 12 months, with data collection visits held before your assigned program, immediately after completing your program, and 6 months after completing your program.
