Mayo Clinic appointment

Do I need to be referred to the Mayo Clinic for an appointment for MAC . I presently live in Las Vegas! Diagnosis with MAC in Oct 2022 and started treatment with the Big 3 antibiotics in Feb 2023 but stopped treatment in September 2023 (aggressive deterioration of vision loss). No treatment since then except nebulizer. Am trying to pursue alternative treatments.

Depends on your insurance. I self-referred. 2 years ago, I called Mayo Rochester Dept. They told me to set up an account, and to send the ACTUAL scans. I did and I was contacted immediately and given an appointment. I have original Medicare. Mayo is a research and teaching institution. When and if Mayo gives one an appointment depends on the illness.

Are you nebulizing and doing airway clearance techniques. Check out Lung Matters ( MAC and other infectious lung diseases) support group. Lots of guidelines with evidence based research article links
