Lymphedema in legs
I was diagnosed with lympedema in 2007. Due to unforseen circumstances I am now on disability so i cant stand for long periods of time without excruciating pain. I have to change so many things in my daily life but one thing that is bothering me is the pain I feel all the time .Try to do things to put in the back of my mind. My condition seems to be getting worse with the stiffness . I watch sit and fit on TV when can which helps some but the thought of not being able to walk at all has me terrified.

Thank you
thank you. will insurances pay for pneumatic machine?
My impression is that is a result of the heart’s inability to “ flush” the fluid back in the legs. The reverse pathways are no longer working. The symptoms are generally not reversible; they are manageable. Leg massages help, and the daily use order a pneumatic machine is advised.
no I do not know cause
Hi @perry1, here is the discussion about lymphedema that I wanted you to see. Do you know the cause of the lymphedema you are experiencing?
Hi @catladyde9 --- I was diagnosed with lymphedema a little over a year ago. When I bought my first pair of compression sock the lady at the Mayo Store at the Rochester Mayo Clinic put them on for me and then took them off and walked me through how to do it using the grab the heel from inside the stocking and pull the sock halfway inside out. Then put your foot in it and pull the heel portion over your heel while pulling the sock up. I think this site has some good info, including how to use the donning gloves that are supposed to be easier although I've never used them. I've recently found some zippered compression socks that are way easier to get on your feet and then hold the sides together while pulling the zipper up.

Standard latex gloves bought at local drugstore. I use them and they work great.
New to lymphedema -- just diagnosed after ultrasound scans of both legs and stomach area. Waiting for custom compression socks ("untall" with very
short legs -- standard compressions stockings are far too long). My vascular surgeon told me to purchase rubber gloves similar to what they use
to assisting in donning/duffing the stockings. Where can these rubber gloves be purchased?
@exislander I hope you are able to see a Lymphedema specialist to help you figure out what's causing the leakage and come up with a treatment plan for you. I did find an article describing something similar to what you are going through that has some information that may be helpful.
