Lymph nodes still sore.

Posted by bmasters01 @bmasters01, Jun 14, 2023

I had a lumpectomy and 2 lymph nodes removed about a month ago. The lymph nodes are still quite sore. Is this normal?

It may be cording. Have you mention that to your surgeon?

It's been two months since surgery and my lymph node area is still tender. PT said there was cording in that area.

Hope it gets better soon.

I agree with @lesliek808 if they are still tender a month out, you need to talk to your surgeon.
Have you been working on getting your arm up?

I don’t know what is normal. However, I had 7 lymphs removed and am still sore 10 months post surgery! I did have cording - moderate lymphedema and a seroma. I worked with an OT who was SO helpful! They drained the seroma once.
I am now working with a PT for shoulder pain.
For context I had IDC - ER+ PR + and HER 2-
Seems like advocating for OT - PT is good. I had to wait until I was maybe 8 weeks post-surgery.
Hope that is of some help to you!
