Lymph nodes removed during surgery removing tumors in the liver
I have received different information about removing lymph nodes when a surgery is done to remove tumors in the liver. I have an unknow origin but is believed to be the GI Track. Grade 2 KI-67 of 6-8%. I have read some information that says it is important to remove the lymph nodes to avoid potential spread. I have also been told that is not likely in my case with tumors only in the liver. Interested in others experience. Thanks in advance.

I have carcinoid tumors in my lungs. One began to grow, so my GP referred me to pulmonary, who did a biopsy, just on the initial nodule. I had the tumor removed about 9 weeks ago. I found out after surgery that they also removed 5 lymph nodes. They were all benign, but I was also told the tumor was benign as well. All very confusing. This was supposedly all necessary because, as I said, it began to grow. They are just watching the others that have since shown up in both lungs. Anyone else have these outcomes?
