Lump and pain near 4 year old surgery scar following grinding noise while working on massage client. Painful when pushed on, firm but moves (not solid like a bone or tendon). Initial swelling through wrist and up arm that subsided with RICE for 48 hrs.

And what sort of surgical site - carpectomy, tendon repair, fracture repair?
Depending on the client’s physicality you may have moved some scar tissue in the wrist or possibly gout crystals of the joint is you felt grinding. All conjecture from a retired nurse. Hopefully the client will get it checked out.
