Lumbar Radiculopathy Caused by Chemical Irritation of L5 and S1 Nerves

Posted by soby @soby, 1 day ago

Lumbar MRI looks about normal.
L5 and S1 nerves are being chemically irritated by Degenerative Discs,
causing foot numbness. Degeneative Discs are from an old back injury. Nothing has helped. Epidurals did nothing and neither has PT.
Long walks give some relief for about 12 hours.
Has anyone found a treatment that works?

soby, you probably already know that the center more liquid portion of the disc is caustic and can spill down multiple levels. While that pain is extreme, the other problem is that the discs are damaged and you are losing disc height. There are minimally invasive procedures that try to seal the outer layer of the disc.
