Loss of Pigment in Aerola
Did anyone experience loss of pigmentation/color in the areola/nipple as a side effect of taking Letrozole?

Interesting question. I hope you have asked your breast cancer team. I have been on Letrozole for nearly 3 years. For me, little to no side effects. Hopefully someone will reply to you.

2 ReactionsYes I brought it up to my MO and she was not concerned.
I researched and says this can occur due to hormonal changes.
Altho I know no one else who as experienced this.

3 ReactionsI lost color of areola of breast cancer side. I assumed this was related to surgery and subsequent radiation.

2 ReactionsI pursued an MRI for a loss of areola pigment when I lifted my arm ( like applying deodorant) and re pigmented when I put my arm down. It was how breast cancer was first diagnosed. A blood vessel was occluded by the tumor pressing on it when I lifted my arm!
So always check it with your onco team!

3 ReactionsAgree on the follow-up to be sure, but I lost pigmentation prior to breast cancer due to lower hormone levels when I went through natural menopause. I'm told that's a natural and common occurance. So I wonder if taking any AI which lowers circulating estrogen would cause the same?
