Anyone have a spinal tumor? Hoping for recovery and support

Posted by selmasima @selmasima, Feb 24, 2022

I have a spinal tumor consisting of nerves and blood clots at the level of the T2 vertebra and a herniated disc in that area and I feel pain in my back in place of the tumor. Is there someone who has a condition like mine and how to heal or deal with the disease or if there is hope for recovery without medical complications. My age is 30. Thnks

I'm not sure if this is helpful or not but Mayo Clinic has some information on diagnosis and treatment of spinal cord tumors here -- https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/spinal-cord-tumor/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20350108

@milly93 posted in another discussion about some neuropathy symptoms going away after removal of a spinal cord tumor and may be able to share her experience.

I'd also like to bring @mmm and @nfrunner into the discussion as they may have experiences to share about spinal tumors.

@selmasima, is your tumor operable? Or what is your current treatment plan?

They did not give me any treatments, they did not understand the disease in my country, and they did not tell me anything. I have an irm image file in cd and medical imaging images on my phone

My tumor is T12-Ll intradural, likely extramedullary. It was found 2 years ago and they wanted me to have it removed but I didn't. It is just starting to give me issues but I am so nervous about getting surgery.
Did you get your surgery? How did it go? Who was your doctor?
Any guidance will be really appreciated.

I also have a meningeoma at T12 same type as yours. My symptoms came on after I broke my ankle and not I an having gait problems and just use a cane. All happened within 7 months. What are you going to do? Have you seen a neurosurgeon yet?
