Lengthy air travel with unopened Tymlos

I might have to travel to New Zealand with an extra, unopened Tymlos pen. The trip can take up to 30 hours total travel time. Does anyone have a recommendation for a refrigerated travel case that
fits a Tymlos pen?
My mom just got hospitalized and I might need to go, for uncertain length of time. .. Hence, the extra pen to take with me. I sure hope there is provision at the pharmacy for a vacation override to get one earlier than normal.

Take a look at the All4Family medication coolers. Here's their Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=all4family. They frequently go on sale on their Amazon and their own website. The $39.99 cooler might be sufficient for your needs. I bought a more expensive model to store my Forteo for international trips, which turned out to be overkill.
Yes, your pharmacy should be able to give you a vacation override for your Tymlos. Contact them early just in case they need to get approval from the ordering physician.
Lastly, my endocrinologist said it was ok for me to not take Forteo on a 2-week int'l trip if I could not find a suitable refrigeration solution, no problem. You may want to touch base with your ordering physician about this too.
Happy travels!

Hi @daisylou I've traveled with Forteo using this medicine cooler for a continous (more than) 7 days without a refrigerator. This one has a digital display on the lid for peace of mind. You could either plug into an electric outlet or use TSA-approved power banks as source of power. I alternated two 27200mAh power banks which lasted the cooling for at least 36 hours without any electric outlets. Of course I'd need to recharge the power banks for further continous use of the cooler. But it worked beautifully with unknown refrigeration status during travel and at destiny.

Note you could also use the gel as well. The gel needs to be frozen overnight first, and you'd want to test temp of the cooler before putting in your pen to avoid freezing of the pen. When gel is used, there won't be any temperature display however you can test how long the gel will keep the temp as desired. Mine was about 18 hours or so, it seems ambient temp could influence the length.

This cooler holds one pen. You could double check. There was a member posted that s/he got a good price at manufacture site around 140 vs 199 at Amazon:

That was me. I purchased it directly from the vendor’s website. I received 10% off and another 10% by watching a brief video: https://4allfamily.com/products/portable-medical-fridge-usb-insulin-medicines

Just wanted to provide an update. I am in New Zealand at the moment . Prior to departure I had a consultation with the pharmacist at Optum Pharmacy. I was told that they had new information from the manufacturer that it would be OK to keep Tymlos unrefrigerated for up to seven days. So that is what I did. I kept it with me so that it would not be getting too hot while sitting anywhere ..just normal room temperature.I did not use the Medical thermos I had purchased. So far so good I hope
