Lead time between starting Tymlos and fracture risk reduction
My 7/16/24 REMS shockingly shows a 5 year risk of major osteoporotic fracture of 100% and hip fracture of 50%. I've since been on a crash course to learn about osteoporosis and how best to deal with it. My GP referred me to an endocrinologist and I saw an NP on 8/1 and requested Tymlos. While I'm awaiting approval from CVS Specialty, I'm fearful of fracturing and trying to learn proper movements.
Does anyone have information as to when fracture risk reduction kicks in after starting Tymlos?
Also any tips on speeding up the CVS Specialty approval process?

All I can say from personal experience is that I fractured three lumbar vertebrae in April 2021 and went on Tymlos for a month in June of that year, then started again in Saptembet. I didn't have any new fractures in the two years I was on Tymlos.
With CVS I seem to remember there were some hold ups that I only found out about by calling. I called the CVS specialty pharmacy, insurance and messaged the doctor's office as I remember!
@zooie, the secondary and exploratory endpoints chart from the Active trial indicates that increase in bmd begins in the first weeks.

You might try to get a complementary pen from Tymlos. Your doctor's office may have one. You could ask them to try and procure one for you. And ask that they expedite the insurance processs.
Meanwhile lay low, probably better not to practice any safety movements.
Cheers to you and your doctor; you will be on the very best medication
