Laxatives after colorectal operation

Can anyone suggest a suitable safe laxative which can be used 2 weeks after a colon operation to relieve constipation? Initial diarrhoea has swiftly become constipation in my case!

Success! Took one Dulcelax last night and all systems now go.

@martin77, glad you were able to answer your own question AND that you came back to share the success for others. May I ask who suggested Dulcolax (bisacodyl) for you?

Hello Colleen. My pharmacist recommended Dulcolax.
I'll keep the updates going if they are useful for others post- op. Just got some good news of the biopsy results but skin reaction / infection around incisions a nuisance.
