Knee replacement with osteoporosis
I am having knee replacement. I am looking for anybody who has had that, or has a lot of knowledge about it.

Haven’t had myself, but many of my friends that have had it. Most of them both knees. They have ALL said the same thing. that you need to do the exercises .
If you don’t, recovering will be twice as long and in the long run more painful.
Best of luck. Keeping positive thoughts for you.
I’ve had TKR on both knees, one in 2017, the other in 2018. Neither knee is perfect, but I can walk. I walk 45” for my exercises in addition to leg stretches everyday. It is very important for you to follow up with physical therapy and be faithful for years after. Recovery is not the easiest, but you will do good if you are vigilant about PT and your daily exercises.
Over the years I’ve noticed my knees can be sensitive to the weather…humidity and bad storms tend to cause a bit of discomfort, but nothing you won’t be able to handle.
Good luck, you’ll be thankful you made the decision.
Hello @johnsticco,
If you are comfortable sharing, are you having a knee replacement as a result of osteoporosis or do you have concerns about having this surgery alongside an osteoporosis diagnosis?
