Knee Buckling after spacer replacement

My knee is buckling after spacer replacement 11 months ago. Have tried exercises to strengthen it. Anyone had this problem? Am afraid of falling.

I had a spacer for 5 months until I was infection free and healed enough to have a new joint put in. I was able to function very well with it.

I had a spacer for 5 months until I was infection free and healed enough to have a new joint put in. I was able to function very well with it.

I’m curious…if the spacer was working, why did you do the total replacement?

Because the spacer was not a knee and I couldn’t do everything like hike and bike and live a normal active life. It was just a temporary thing.

I have had 3 surgeries now with the 3rd one being the spacer. my knee always buckles, but am vey reluctant to get another surgery. I almost had a mental breakdown with the last one because it was one thing after another continuously. Ha anyone else had this issue? any thoughts Orr suggestions or advice on which way to turn next?
