I have had no problems with Jardiance. No side effects at all.
I was on for thirty days, had no issues.
Was too short a time and too dynamic a situation to really rate its effectiveness.
I’ve been on jardiance for over six months. No issues and definitely helps with glucose management. Can tell those mornings when I miss a dose.
I was on Trulicity for about two years...and had a case of acute pancreatitis, which was attributed to the trulicty...and they switch me to Jardiance...no adverse affects and I feel as if my t2d is in better control...looking forward to my next A1C to see the results.
All meds have side effects. Sometimes it is a gamble whether you will experience any or not. If you do, you may adjust to them or you may need to try a different medication. Thankfully there are usually other options available. It is nice to be aware of what options are available what side effects there might be before starting a new medication.
I've been on Jardiance now for many months. I look back and see no side effects but also can't tell that it has helped with ckd at all. It also wasn't lowering the A1C numbers much so I am not certain how much longer I will stay on it. What is the reason for going on it?
I am on Farxiga, another of the SGLT2 inhibitors. My Endocrinologist was asking me to go on it for a couple of years but I was so worried about one of the side effects (gangrene of the genital region) that I said no thanks. I managed my diabetes to a varied degree through Soliqua (insulin with another diabetes drug in it) and keto diet. But after 20 years on and off keto, I started getting protein in my urine so I finally agreed.
I read up and these SGLT2 drugs pull glucose and sodium out of your blood stream into your urine and prevent the kidneys from reabsorbing it back into the blood. The side effects of thirst and yeast infections seems to stem from users not 1) Drinking adequate water (this drug makes you feel thirsty like uncontrolled diabetes!) and improper hygiene 'down there'. So I made sure I drank water all day and kept things tidy.
Zero side effects other than thirst. My A1C has hovered at 5.8 to 6.1 and I'm certain I could do even better if I ate a little bit less carbs (you can't do keto on this med, you risk ketoacidosis - so I eat a normal diet now). My protein leakage also went basically to nothing. I don't get yeasty or any of the other side effects. The first few days on it I felt weird but that might have also been going off of keto.
I just started it and agree with another commenter, keeping hydrated is essential. It seems to be helping my symptoms of heart failure and for now I’m not taking diuretic (lasix). Good luck to both of us!
I started Jardiance last month @ it replaced the pioglitazone I had been on along with 1000mg metformin twice a day.
Doc said Jardiance was better for my heart.
It seems to keep my blood sugar lower.
All of the SGLT-2 Inhibitors have unexpected benefits - they also help prevent the re-absorption of sodium as well as sugar into the blood stream, lowering blood sugar and sodium levels in the blood. Good effect for both diabetics and people with HBP.
