I had steroid injection today for trigger finger in my middle finger (long finger). Now my finger is numb and feels hot! Is this normal?

@radinecox4 I had corticosteroid injections (2 injections) in my shoulder yesterday. I was informed that I may experience numbness in the area of the injections for up to a day because of the numbing medication. That did happen but I did not experience the heat that you mention. I recommend that you call the medical provider's office where the injection was performed and ask to speak with your provider or their nurse. This is question to ask your provider as I don't know if the feeling of heat is an expected side effect of the injection.

Will you do that today?

Warmth, redness and swelling can be signs of infection. I would call your doctor to rule this out

I agree with Helen and Laura. Both conditions are rare for a cortisone shot, especially if they persist. It's very unlikely an infection would show up so quickly. But check with your Dr asap and pls let us know what happens.

All the best to you.
