Is it neuropathy related to chemo or is it carpal tunnel?
The forefinger, middle finger and ring finger on my right hand are numb. The space where fore and middle finger meet on top of hand is also numb. Sometimes when I bend hand forward, a pain will shoot down to the area between the fore and middle finger then it's really numb. I can't pick up pills or other small items because I can't feel them. I have referral to hand surgeon but haven't heard anything yet. Thanks

The cause of my neuropathy was not determined. I take 3- 800 mg gabapentin and 3 tramadol every day. I also get injections in the joints (knuckles) every three months. The injections work great.
I have had carpal tunnel pain and an operation. It was diagnosed by a neurologist. My hand went back to normal.
Also I have Reynaud's syndrome which is poor blood circulation in the hands mostly but can include the feet. Reynaud's mainly causes numbness, cold hands and strange bruises in the fingers. Sometimes these hurt. Does any of this sound relevant?
Neuropathy generally starts in the feet and lower legs.
Have you been doing anything over a long period that might have caused carpal tunnel? You would know...
With me it's tendonitis from years of DIY, driving screws by hand, drilling holes by hand.
I use a power screwdriver now, if I go back to hand driving my forearm soon reminds me.
No cold hands or feet or bruising
I did hair for almost 25 years. I knew at some point it would be a possibility. It's just that it all started about the same time so it's hard to tell if it's chemo related. I believe it's carpal tunnel and the neuropathy in feet is related to my back. As soon as I put a back brace on, I start getting the feeling back in my toes. I can do maneuvers lying down too and change position with back and I get feeling back in toes. It's the three end toes on each foot and the soles of my feet. My pain management doctor is aware of it though.
OK so it's not neuropathy. At least you can put that aside, although bad luck as regards the hands. Some people get away with repetitive exposures over years and years, some don't.
Hopefully your surgeon can rectify.
Feet... is it even neuropathy. Sounds more like a pinched nerve. Again, perhaps it can be fixed.
Pray for a good outcome.
I have some issues similar I had an emg. They found carpal tunnel (Neurologist) I splint it at night and it really helps. I decided not to consult with surgery given it is my dominant hand).
I agree with the pinched nerve. I've had back issues for over 20 years. Talked to oncologist yesterday and she even mentioned changing my chemo drug to one that causes less neuropathy but is more expensive. I come home and put on old back brace and almost immediately starting getting feeling back in toes. I ordered another back brace and one for carpal tunnel. Although I did have some mild neuropathy to start during the chemo, closer to end of treatments, I think that side effect has pretty much subsided. I just want to try and fix the problem before starting these next few treatments, just enough for my hair to fall out again. It's just now growing back. 😫😂
Yeah I'm not crazy about surgery either. I ordered a good hand brace for carpal tunnel. I'd been using just the compression wrist bands and although it makes it feel a little better, I can still bend my wrist. I need plaster of Paris 🤣
Hopefully the new brace will work. 🤞
