Is a biopsy wise where sarcomas are concerned?
I’ve been told sarcomas are a different type of cancer than others. I have a lesion in my cartilage. Wondering if I should have it removed instead of waiting for it to spread to bone. Is a biopsy required or can I just have it removed?

J I have cartilage cancer it is called chondrosarcoma. It metastasised and I have only a few months to live. The ONLY way to stop it is surgery. It has to be cut out and the sooner the better. Do Not let it spread into bone. It cannot be stopped. There is no known treatment that works other than resection. It is urgent. Don’t delay. Yes you should always get a biopsy but this is a very rare cancer, how was it diagnosed without a biopsy. I now have 13 chondrosarcoma tumors ending my life. I am not a medical professional. I am a patient with a disease that no one knows much about. I urge you. Don’t delay.
Thank you for the reply. Did your cancer ever reach the bone? Did it metastasize before it reached the bone?
By the time it was properly diagnosed it had spread from cartilage to bone and soft tissue. I lost my right femur and knee. I lost 3 of my 4 quadriceps. Stryker implant for bones and had to learn to walk again . 4 months later it had metastasised to multiple sites worst being left hip and femur and my right humerus. I have multiple other sites in cartilage and 1 lymph node. Thus cancer usually metastasises to the lungs or kidneys. That has not happened yet. I soon won’t be able to sit… as I said previously don't delay. You are lucky it has been detected. Use your luck.
