Is 7 weeks to wait for double mastectomy after chemo risky?
In July was diagnosed with IDC stage 2b. Mass in both breast and one positive lymph node. The surgeon said he didn't feel comfortable with me waiting 6 weeks for surgery (that is when he would be able to do it)so I started chemotherapy A&C then Taxol. Now he has me scheduled for 7weeks out of my last chemo treatment. Should I be worried?

I can understand why you feel uncomfortable with the doctor’s decision to wait seven weeks, it’s very normal to want it removed sooner than later. He definitely sounds like waiting was not an option but you started chemo in the six weeks he wanted to do the surgery, this is very normal because they can greatly reduce the size of the mass and also reduce the risk for spreading. I know that they usually don’t want to do the surgery too soon after your treatments because it will give your body time to recover, the treatments take it’s toll on the body so a little time in between is good for your recovery. I feel that it would help you to speak with your doctor about your concerns because it’s very normal for you to have them, he can then explain to you what he knows is best for you and and help to ease your anxiety, good wishes for your speedy recovery.
