Invasive Lobular cancer and tamoxofin - without ovaries?

Posted by janeenbjugstad @janeenbjugstad, Jul 28 12:23pm

I had stage 1 invasive lobular cancer - had a lumpectomy and 2 lymphnodes removed. My doctor wants me to take tamoxofin, but I am wondering if I need to take since I had my ovaries were removed several years ago. ? My oncotype score was 11 and was ER positive 10.4 an 7.5 PR positive. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Very similar diagnosis and Oncotype; however I take Anastrozole since I a post menopause due to a hysterectomy. Dr. suggests I am an ideal candidate due to high levels of estrogen and progesterone in my tumor. My Onco DX was a 10, no lymph node involvement, and I had a bilateral mastectomy. I wonder why the Tamoxifen and not Anastrozole? I was told the efficacy for Anastrozole is better by two different Oncologists.
