Posted by mike1941 @mike1941, Aug 28, 2022

Good morning, I am Bonnie B, with chronic pain lower right side from back across mid section since robotic lung surgery June 21, to remove NSCC Cancer, and now also being treated for lung disease MAC - both oral and nebulizer salt treatments. Now have lost 17 pounds-,117 to 100, 81 year old 5 ft, still with high energy, great support in husband and would love to visit with anyone that feels like they have an extremely tight rope belt that cuts off breath and is extremely painful- 18 months. Pleased to send private message to visit with anyone having or has had this experience. In faith and so thankful that The Mayo Clinic provides this forum. Bonnie B

Hello @mike1941. I wonder if anyone has ever mentioned intercostal neuralgia to you or if you have heard of it in relation to your symptoms?

I had intercostal pain after a bad spinal fracture. Best thing in the world for it is, massage! I started out with a few chiropractic treatments which helped me understand the diagnosis and relieved some of the pressure. It's beginning at the spine & so get a good masseuse.

Sorry just getting back to you… started new cancer treatment for new nodule. However, Neuralgia has not been mentioned. What type of specialist should I request from my internist? Thank you!
