Immobility
Complete immobility, abdominal distention and daily pain after gallbladder removed 20 years ago. Stemming from chronic Lymes disease. Dr would like to remove intestines. I’ve tried laxatives, decades of supplements, daily Epsom salt baths, abdominal massages, accupuncture, chiropractors, multiple specialists. I love to travel, super social and enjoy working out. It would be a lifestyle stopper. I also have had decades of colonoscopies with precancerous polyps. My diets consists of eggs and liquids at this point and refrain from outings w friends as food seems to be an enemy. I’m feeling desperate. Is anyone else dealing with the same symptoms? Thankful for any recommendations. I’m looking for supplement recommendations and others journeys through this.

Under the "any recommendations" heading, I bring my food with me. I carry a bag with enough pockets for what I would carry otherwise smoothie-type protein drinks. One could do that or the same with a pureed soup that works for you.
You don't say your discomfort/pain is getting in the way of your lifestyle, just social eating, so I don't know why surgery would help social eating. From three lines of evidence, Castle and Connolly lists the best MDs. They make their money another way. Consider getting another opinion (and I often don't follow my MD's advice, but find another way). Doctors do want to help, but they have a limited tool box and also need cash flow. All must be weighed.

Hello Jo and welcome to Mayo Connect, I see that @researchmaven has already responded to you with some helpful ideas. I especially like the suggestion that you get a second opinion before having surgery. Before any major surgery, a second opinion is a wise plan. Sometimes a new set of eyes can be very helpful. If you have a health facility in your area such as Mayo Clinic or a university medical school, these would be great places for that second opinion. If you would like a consultation at one of the three Mayo facilities, here is a link with appointment information, http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63.
As you said, you were looking to Mayo Connect to find others on this journey, I did a "search" on Mayo Connect. Here is a link to the posts that mention motility problems. Please read these posts and see what others have said about their motility problems.

Some of these members have motility issues due to previous surgeries of the digestive tract and some also have motility issues because of diabetes. Do you know the cause of your issues?
What is the most difficult problem for you now? Is it the pain or the inability to eat with others? What does your doctor hope to achieve by removing the intestines?
Thank you for your response.
My primary issues are not eliminating (no solids for as long as I can remember or natural elimination), pain, abdominal swelling is definitely a part of my everyday chronically. I have to take something to go and is liquid if anything. Abdominal pain and swelling keeps me up at night and swelling is also present in rib cage. I typically have liquids a few days a week and try light meals of eggs and fish in efforts to minimize symptoms.
I was diagnosed with long term Lymes years ago after a decade of symptoms. I had my gall bladder removed as well. As far as other issues, I’m having some iliac vein issues in abdominal area. I’ve been to several gastroenterologist in the past. Trying to find cause and a solution.
