I’m wanna talk symptoms…

I’ve noticed over my life, many people who are sick, or had other medical situations, actually DID have symptoms. We all just pass them off as “normal” for us or are just too afraid to face what they could mean.

I drink about 36oz of coffee every morning, sometimes a bottle of water and a protein shake (if I work out). I pee A LOT!!!! My commute to work is about 20 minutes. Sometimes I leave the house fine, but have to stop on the way to work to pee. Is this a symptom, or just normal for me? I don’t remember ever being any different when it came to drinking excess liquids, especially beers even when I was in my 20’s.
Drinking water at work…. I drive a lot for my job. If I have two or three bottles of water, I’ll pee 4 it seems, stopping several times to do so. A symptom or normal? Doesn’t happen if I don’t drink.

Body aches and pains… Not only do I drive a lot, but when I’m out of the truck, I do pretty physical labor; digging holes for sign installment with post hole diggers and an iron rock bar. A lot of energy in a short period of time. I get stiff sometimes and gotta stop and get out of the truck. A symptom or normal?
My shoulders show a lot of wear and tear (MRI confirmed) from years of this work. They’ve been bothering me for over a year, getting worse before finally getting seen, rehab, and exercise… improving the pain and range of motion. Is this from work or a symptom of met’s to my shoulders. I would think the MRI’s would have seen that.
An achy bum from time to time I just associated with hemmeroids, peeing 2-3 times some nights depending on what I have before I go to sleep, some night maybe once, some not at all. But my wife does the same thing, so I viewed it as normal, been this way for years.

But all this makes me wonder, have I been having symptoms for a while now and just brushed them off?

nope- sounds pretty normal. But why not get a regular blood panel workup w/PSA just to be sure ?

Once a year.
Since you do drink quite a bit of water, you should expect to urinate more often. BUT, get the PSA and blood work AND a urine analysis ( to check for occult blood) and make sure you at least do the stool sample test yearly to check for blood in colon.

I just had my yearly with a complete blood panel. My PSA is within normal limits, but did spike. I was also anemic. I go back next week for further testing, a DRE and likely more labs.

I’ve read that occult blood loss alone won’t cause anemia. If one was losing that much blood, it would be visible in urine or stool.

And, my “wear and tear” damage to my shoulder, I believe, is considered arthritis, which can cause anemia. And considering I lifted weights the morning of my blood draw, likely irritated the damage and caused further inflammation.

So, so much is up in the air right now and I just get into my own head, wondering if maybe I did miss something.

@asgmiami1 well you could test again in 6 months. sounds like you are ok..dont let fear of something that hasnt happened ruin your life...

just be attentive to any change and always watch for blood in toilet, sudden but on going pain somewhere, unaccounted weight loss, unusal fatigue...I suspect you are ok.

What you describe are not symptoms of prostate cancer, They are the direct result of drinking too much liquid.

You can get a PSA test, but that’s not likely to show much because of your symptoms being directly related to what you’re doing.

I am 78. My wife is 77 neither of us get up more than once at night to pee.

Since your joints hurt, taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen, can alleviate those pains usually.

People that have prostate cancer usually don’t have any symptoms at all.

Thank you, and I certainly hope so.

...avoid liquids two hours before bedtime. Caffeinated drinks have more long lasting diuretic effects. Best to stop
by the late afternoon if not sooner.
