@karolyn Did your PCP start you on antibiotics fo your infection?
I was in the hospital for 2 days on antibiotic iv then continue cipro when got home my wbc is very high the hospital ran alot of test and blood work and still can't find the cause of the bactericidal infection or were it's at
@hosta Yes, I had a series 3 medial branch blocks in the neck area, and 5 -7 in the lumbar area. Each time I thought the first one was working, so they did the second one. But they really didn't work for me. I personally know one may that they made a big difference for him. I was given a IV and when I got in the procedure room, the anesthesia was injected in the IV. It was just enough to put me in NA NA land. The Doctor does use a x-ray to guide the needle where he has decided where the problem is coming from. Out of all that I had, I only had trouble with the last one and I am sorry to say that one really did hurt. So it does work on some people and most of the time there is no problem. It is just like any other procedure. Good Luck. God Bless!
Sorry to bother you ,how do u know if the medial branch block works and if it don't what's next
@karolyn Sorry to hear that can you go to Mayo?
I'm not sure ,thank u for your help,God bless u
Do they help with infection that can't be found
@karolyn your welcome I hope you post again
Thank you so much
@karolyn your welcome
@hosta. You should see a difference in your pain level after the anesthesia is gone, in an hour or so. They will call you the next day and ask how long it lasted. That will determine if they continue with the series. At least that is what they told me.
