Iliopsoas tendonitis after total hip replacement
Has anyone been diagnosed with iliopsoas tendinitis after a total hip replacement? I started having severe hip thigh and groin pain about a year after my surgery. I haven’t been able to get a definitive diagnosis, but I am suspicious that it might be tendinitis.

@longhorn1 I had my hips replaced a long time ago now - 12 & 18 years ago. Over the years I have had both tendinitis and bursitis as well as sciatica on both sides at one time or another. I had some complications including one dislocation, so was worried I might "do something" to my implants and it turns out I was being too cautious.
The first step is to make sure the hip joint is as it should be - firmly seated, no evidence of bone loss, shifting or loosening.
Once that is confirmed, the solution every time was to calm the inflammation - either with NSAIDs and ice therapy, or perhaps a cortisone injection.
Next comes stretching and exercise, very gentle at first, then progressively working to strengthen all the muscles and improve flexibility. This is a lifetime deal - stop, and it will stiffen up again. I maintain by either stretching or "senior" yoga at least 4-5 times a week, walking, and staying as active as I can. Sometimes a few sessions of PT to show you the best way to do each stretch is helpful.
Have you seen either your surgeon or your primary doc about this?
