IDC /Burning Type of Sensation Anyone

Posted by srobinet @srobinet, Jan 19 8:40pm

I have IDC grade 3 newly diagnosed and have not had surgery yet. For a few months I have had this burning type of sensation/pain on the same side of the breast where my cancer is. I originally thought my bra was causing the discomfort. It is not all the time it just comes and goes from time to time. It only last a few seconds and stops. I just think it's odd.

@srobinet, I notice in another discussion you asked about shingles. Is the burning related to a shingles outbreak? Has the burning resolved?

@colleenyoung I do not have Shingles and the burning seems to have gotten a little better. It's not constant kinda comes and goes once in a while.

Yes, I had burning/stinging sensation in my right breast. I wasn't sure what that was and just ignored it. After my mammogram in Feb 2023, I had to have a mastectomy since I had multiple tumors.

Now I tell everyone not to disregard any type of pain or stinging in the breast.

@lesliek808 thank you for replying. I ignored it as well but had been having normal yearly mammograms every year. This last mammogram was 2 months late and the stinging I think had been going on for a couple of months. It was probably the cancer and I mentioned it to the oncologist. He said it was probably the tumor pressing on a nerve or something like that.

@srobinet I'm glad you brought this up on the forum. I wish more people would be aware how serious it can be. I was diagnosed with both IDC & DCIS in the right breast and within a month, I had to have a mastectomy.
