My wife has had IBS for over 4 years. We would like any help to relief this debilitating disease. She has had both diarrhea and formed stools. We are almost completely home bound.

I have had IBS-D for many years, right now I am on buscopan for pain, and spasms, and Immodium to slow things down.I took 2 a couple of weeks ago, and it has not been too bad. Still able to go to the bathroom. Only once a day. The immodium slows the contractions down. I also eliminated chewing gum, carbonated drinks, and eat oatmeal 3 or 4x a week. Good luck.

Also a heat pad is a comfort too on the abdomen.

Good to know about the probiotic. Is BIO-K a good one?

Has she been tested for gluten intolerance or SIBO? I have had it for over forty years and still suffer. I have had many endoscopies and colonoscopies. All negative. I really have to watch what I eat. I even have an app on my phone called "we can't wait". I have used it on road trips. It's not only debilitating, it's embarrassing.

I eat a gluten-free diet and lots of rice. Rice helps with my diarrhea.

Suffering from IBSD for years now. Just got prescribed Viberzi so will see how it works. I’m also going to try gut brain hypnotherapy (NERVA). This is such an irritating condition. Usually take Imodium daily just as preventative but will try the above instead and see how it goes. Good luck to all who suffer from this!!

I’ve had IBSd for over 6 years. I had a comprehensive work up at MDAnderson with colonoscopy. Nothing was found and found I do not have celiac disease, just a little sensitive to gluten. I’ve since learned that I’m sensitive to lactose so cutting that out makes a difference for me.

What I do is try to manage it with incontinence type products tat I get from NorthShore supply. And, pray for few accidents. Good luck to all who suffer from IBSd
