I was in a dark place, thankfully I'm still here.

It all became too much, after a long battle trying to get answers and not getting anywhere my mind went to a place it had not been before. I did feel thirsty at the time but I do think there was a conscious effort to harm myself. I consumed 4 and a half litres of water in 40 minutes. This was in the morning and by 5pm on the night I had a seizure and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. I spent a week in intensive care. I don't recall much of it due to sedation. I suffered from cerebral edema and high white blood count. Thankfully all of which were corrected by the medical staff. It's taken a while to get back to health. I'm sorry for the delayed update to anyone who was concerned. I did receive some mental health support along with medication. The best of which I now have a genetic consultation booked for August. Thank you for your support as always, it's much appreciated.

Thank you, my appointment isn't until mid August. I'm not sure what the turn around will be for the genetic panel but once I have the results I'll let you know.

@change25 This is such good news!! I’ve been hoping for the best and here it is! I just knew that you were a wonderful young man going through some exceedingly hard times. I can really relate as I had some of the same thoughts when I was waiting for a diagnosis. I’m just glad that you knew you needed help! Please don’t feel that you have to be involved extensively with Mayo Connect. Just do what’s right for you. God Bless @change25 !

Many thanks, Becky. What I did find disappointing was during my mental health support they did not address my physical issues / changes to appearance. They just seemed too eager to pump me with pills. It did help I was just hoping that would've been addressed better. I'm coping better , but of course it
is still hard. I couldn't not give an update after my previous post. I won't be as active as I do find it can cause me to get obsessed for the wrong reasons but I'll definitely update after my genetic consultation. You've all been so good and some form of conclusion would be nice.

@change25 that’s a smart decision you made about being an infrequent presence on MCC, what is important is that you take care of YOU!
It’s really good ‘talking’ with you, just keep getting better!
