I started Forteo 3 mths ago and have bad side affects

I hope you have completely stopped using Forteo and reported these ADVERSE REACTIONS to your doctor and that the doctor then reported them to the FDA.

I have called my drs office and left messages on patient portal and still have not heard back. I haven't stopped the shots yet but can tell you that I am going to stop all bone shots of any kind after this experience. I don't trust that I won't have the same experience with any of the other shots and do not want to go through this anymore. I'm not sure why I haven't heard back as the nurse said she was marking it urgent......

Do complain about not hearing back and if possible change the Doctor. It is not acceptable to not hear back when you are having side effects.

If the doctor does not respond this week, I would file a complaint with the medical licensing board for your State.

Naomi, definitely stop the Forteo. It leaves your system quickly, so the effects should resolve withing 24hrs. I don't recognize most or the side effects as ones I've heard of before. Which doesn't mean they aren't. It might mean that few are as diligent as you are. You've already earned the badge for valor.
You need a new doctor. Even if the physician has suffered a tragedy preventing a response, the office has not handled your situation appropriately.
I wonder if hyperparathyroidism is causing hypermagnesemia or hypokalemia. Some blood labs might advantage you.
Low blood pressure is definitely an effect of Forteo and that creates a hazard of fainting and falling.
I hope you don't give up on bone meds because there are dangers in the other direction as well.

This is so totally unacceptable , I can’t even find words!!! You should be demanding to speak to the dr. And start looking for another one immediately!! There’s no excuse for this, in my opinion on any level. I certainly hope you have provided all what’s going on so whomever , the nurse can’t say it didn’t sound urgent!!! I am sorry that you are having these difficulties..... especially not being able to get a response from your doctor.....!!!

I took forteo long ago when it first came out. I lost all my hair --including on my body and face. I still have thin hair on head but they tried to tell me this was not a side effect of forteo - which now hairloss is listed as a side effect. You are truly having side effects from the drug. If you stop it -- I didnt- you will lose any gains but at what cost? Regardless, after the 1 year of forteo the loss starts again -- I lost any gains by now and never got the hair back. Its difficult to decide what to do and I feel your distress.

I have not heard from my Dr. I called them yet again yesterday and they said she was out of the office yesterday but I should hear from her today as soon as she logged into her computer, well they've been open a few hours and no calls and no response on the patient portal. I stopped the shots and I will not try any other shots after this experience! I don't trust anything after everything that happened with this. Again thank you for commenting!
