I need a second opinion
My mother was diagnosed with cancer. This cancer 2023 and she’s been doing chemo. They stopped her chemo like for five months ago and she’s been doing fine. She gained energy strength but not gaining weight at all now we just heard that she need to go back to chemo and we don’t think it’s good for her to do that I don’t know what to do or should we get a second opinion because our doctors are pushing for her to have the chemo?

Welcome to Mayo Connect. It must be hard to see your mother struggling with cancer and treatments. If in doubt, I think getting a 2nd opinion (or a third) is a good idea. They may agree with the current provider or advise a different treatment plan.
Is there another medical facility with a cancer center near her current location? Do you care to share where she lives?
If you're interested in getting a 2nd opinion at Mayo, your mother can self-refer by completing the intake form or calling the Mayo Clinic location of your preference. Both can be found here: http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63
Does your mother agree with the suggestion for a 2nd opinion?
