Hi all

I’ve worked 20 plus years in retail standby 8 hour days . I retired last year . I used ok shoes never had leg pain . I still work part time but have been wearing meds flat sole shoes for two years standing 4 hour days

My question is this past couple of weeks I have pain in my upper right leg maybe my hip is going that doesn’t hurt just tv leg . I have an appointment tomorrow
I have osteopenia I had a Dexxa in both hips .
I hope I don’t need a hip replacement

eliselbaer, we hope you don't need hip replacement, too. You might want a lumbar MRI, L 4-5 is notorious for causing upper leg pain. Problems with the SI joint can also refer to the hip. Even though the remedies are easier than hip replacement, we hope you don't have those either. There are many things we all hope you don't have. I'm voting for a muscular irritation that physical therapy can resolve, or better a medication that you can quit.
Let us know what you find out tomorrow.

It may be muscular.
Osteoporosis and Osteopenia do not cause pain.
