I have recently been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and arthritis at 56

I have been diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 56 and arthritis.. I need a hip replacement. I am looking for a dr who specializes in this surgery for adults. I’m worried about leg length etc.. I was told to check the Mayo. Any idea? Could I even get in to see a dr? I did have mri etc..

@beexbaby4 Welcome to Mayo Connect. We are the support group for May patients and others who live with a variety of medical conditions.

Mayo Clinic is certainly an option if one of the campuses in Minnesota, Arizona or Florida is easily accessible to you. But, having had multiple hip replacements with arthritis and other issues (though not dysplasia), follow up care and physical therapy for a couple months are also important, so you may want to seel care closer to home.

Can you tell me a little more about where you are located? Many larger or university cities have excellent orthopedic care for complicated cases.
