I have been diagnosed with high PTH, Hypocalciuria, and hypercalcemia
I have been seeing an Endocrinologist regarding high PTH (203-178), Hypocalciuria and Hypercalcemia. I have several of the symptoms of hyperparathyroidism, such as elevated anxiety, panic attacks, poor sleep, fatigue, depression, brain fog, forgetfulness, loosing more hair than usual, brain on fire, Osteopenia, to name a few.
I am going through genetic counseling now to consider the possibility of FHH, but I have symptoms and am afraid my Endocrinologist will not be aggressive in helping me. He seems way too laid back.

Hi there - from what you describe, I would check into hyperparathyroidism. I have had it three times due to a MEN1 gene mutation. This site is very helpful in understanding the condition and what you seem to be experiencing - https://www.parathyroid.com/parathyroid-symptoms.htm

2 ReactionsIf no one in your family history has FHH you don’t have it. Just more money for the health care provider. They wanted $5k to test my wife and then we read the Norman parathyroid center web site. We then had surgery for my wife there and it’s a 5 star operation! Best surgeons in the world. Very tiny incision and then it’s back to the hotel room, none of this staying overnight in the hospital. Flew Home the next day. Great experience and it’s the best surgery my wife has had.

2 ReactionsI will throw in my experience. I was diagnosed with primary parathyroid disease in 2014 at Mayo Rochester. I consulted there again in 2022 and still was running high blood calcium, high PTH, high 24 hour urine but the surgeons I consulted with there said I was not a good candidate for a parathyroidectomy. Finally in 2025 I had the time and resources to do something . At first I was going to go to Norman Parathyroid Center but had problems getting an appointment. Through Mayo Connect I learned of Dr. Deva Boone of the Southwest Parathyroid Center in Mesa Arizona. After a phone consult and forwarding her my medical records I was able to get a surgery appointment. She performed a successful Parathyroidectomy on me in June of 2025. She also had to remove a multi-nodal goiter up against a thyroid and on top of the parathyroid adenoma. She has skilled hands!. I believe she is the best parathyroid surgeon in the business. She was associated with the Norman Parathyroid center at one time.
