I had a upper endoscopy 3 days ago and was sent a procedure report,

There was esophageal mucosa changes secondary to short segment Barrett's disease. The
changes involved the mucosa extending to the Z-line.There was salmon colored mucosa
present. The maximum longitudinal extent of these esophageal mucosal changes was .
cm in length.The mucosa was biopsied for histology.

Is there anything about this report I should be worried about?

Normally you wouldn't worry too much about the color of the mucosa but with Barrettes you need annual endoscopies.
My mucosa has changed to an irregular patchy dark tan which is abnormal because it should be nice and pink. However my pathology report came back good.

Your report should discuss dysplasia. It can be negative, low, or high. If it is not apparent in the report, discuss it with your doctor. It is important as to how your Barrett’s will be treated/monitored.

Thanks for your response, I've had Barretts for probably 25 years and I get endoscopies every 3 yrs now but this is the first time I have been given this kind of report and it even shows photos of my esophagus (gross) anyhow I was concerned and results of the biopsy won't be back for a while.

Did you review & get feedback from dr yet. I just had one in November & my dr wanted 2 tests & he just got a high profile position as head of surgery so I had to wait til today to review. Good luck!
