I can turn off colors and sound when I get stressed.
I've recently been doing a ton of research, and I think I may be on the Autism spectrum. Not claiming to be autistic, I don't have a diagnosis, but there is a huge possibility. I also recently realized that it isn't normal to be able to turn off sound and color when I get too stressed. My ears hum softly, and I can't hear anything outside my head. Everything in my field of vision dulls out to greys and light browns and stays like that until I calm down. However, I also have a history of trauma, derealization, dissociation, all that, so could it have to do with that? I've been able to turn off these senses since I was a little kid, just now wondering about it. Let me know if you know anything!!!

We are not medical professionals, so we cannot not should we attempt, to diagnose you. Many times we may search for information, and we are able to "tweak" it around a bit in our perception when we read it, and it sounds just like our situation.
My suggestion is to have formal testing done if you are concerned. How would this change the way you see yourself, to do this?
